FWC has identified the body of a boater involved in a boating accident yesterday in the Caloosahatchee River. 60 year old John Cobb was ejected from his boat and killed after his boat hit a wake from another vessel.
Numerous health code violations forced the popular Golden Corral Restaurant in Cape Coral to close down Wednesday. An inspection by the state’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation cited the restaurant for greasy equipment, improperly thawing meats and the inspector observed 18 live roaches. The restaurant was reopened at noon Thursday.
Perhaps a sign that water conditions are improving somewhat in the Cape. The city has opened the Yacht Club Beach which had been closed since mid-July. The Florida Department of Health has determined that the water is safe for swimming
School Cook Secretly Serves Kangaroo To Kids
Kangaroos aren’t just cute Aussie animals, according to one Nebraska school chef they are also a good source of lean, nutritious meat. Kevin Frei admitted that he added kangaroo to his chili that was eaten by junior and senior high school students at the Potter school. Kevin said that the meat wasn’t unhealthy or dangerous and apologized for any anxiety that eating the exotic meat may have caused. The cook didn’t explain where the meat came from.
