With recounts looming in the Florida US Senate, Governor’s and Commissioner of Agriculture races, Rick Scott has filed suit against the Broward and Palm Beach Election Offices alleging that officials are hiding critical information about the number of votes cast and counted. And in a suit against Palm Beach County, Scott is charging that the election supervisor illegally used her own judgment to determine voter intent when reviewing damaged or incorrectly filled-out absentee ballots, and didn’t allow impartial witnesses to monitor the process. Meanwhile, the Andrew Gillum campaign, is monitoring the situation in the Governor’s race closely and is ready for any outcome, including a state-mandated recount. In the Commissioner of Agriculture race, Democrat Nikki Fried has pulled ahead of Republican Matt Caldwell, after Caldwell had declared victory Tuesday night.
15 year old Christian McCrary a student at Naples High School has been arrested and charged with making threats against the school on social media. He’s expected to see a judge this morning.
80 year old Vera Lozen was killed after getting pinned underneath a van in Port Charlotte. The accident happened at the corner of Aaron Street and Gertrude Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene. FHP and the Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
