Local police are looking into several shootings over the weekend. The first in Cape Coral where one person is in custody after a shooting near the 1000 block of SE 13th Pl. No ID on the suspect as of yet.

Parts of I-75 were shut down Sunday for close to 8 hours while police investigated a shooting that apparently involved a vehicle that eventually crashed into a median. I-75 was closed between Alico and Corkscrew.

And police are continuing to look into a shooting in Immokalee in which 35 year old Cornelius Timms was wounded in the head. The shooting happened near Immokalee High School at 2nd Ave S and W. Delaware Ave.

 

Letter From Santa Offers Perfect Solution for Parents Who Work on Christmas Day

  • A mom whose husband works on Christmas Day as a first responder came up with a solution for other parents and kids who can not have their loved one home on Christmas.
  • She created an “official letter” from Santa Claus explaining to the kids of military and first responders that they sacrifice a lot so their parents can help others.
  • Santa explains that a special group of kids will be celebrating Christmas on a different day this year so that the whole family can celebrate it together. In this mom’s case, Christmas will be celebrated the morning of December 24th.
  • The letter has now gone viral racking up 25,000 views and thousands of comments. Parents have requested an amendment to the letter to include medical professionals, pilots and flight crews, divorced families and general use.

 

 

 

Stevie Nicks Reacts To History-Making HOF Induction

  • Stevie Nicks is part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2019, which makes her the first woman ever to be a two-time Rock Hall of Famer.
  • How does Stevie feel about all this?  On Friday she tweeted “I have been in a band since 1968.  To be recognized for my solo work makes me take a deep breath and smile.  It’s a glorious feeling.”
  • Nicks first entered the Rock Hall in 1998 as part of Fleetwood Mac.
  • Some other two-time Rock HOFers include Michael Jackson, Peter Gabriel, and all four Beatles.  Eric Clapton is a three-time inductee.
