3 people were hurt in a stabbing incident last night at a home in Port Charlotte near the corner of Yarborough Avenue and Pelham Blvd. One person has been arrested. Police say alcohol was involved.
Investigators have closed I-75 twice in recent days, looking into a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning. Yesterday we got a little more information on the shooting. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says a motorist was struck by a bullet in the Southbound lanes of I-75 by the Alico Road exit. The victim had to be hospitalized. 48 year old Bradley Phillips was killed yesterday when he was ejected from his vehicle after a rollover crash on Veteran’s Memorial Parkway in the Cape yesterday. Bradley was pronounced dead at the scene. We’ve also got a report of a bicyclist that was killed overnight when he was hit by a vehicle on US 41 near the intersection of Magnolia Landing Lane, North of Del Prado Blvd. No I.D. on the deceased.
29 year old Yoel Perez-Florat, has been arrested and charged with operating a marijuana grow house in the garage of his Lehigh Acres home. Police recovered about 20 plants that weighed over 150 pounds. The suspect will be back in court next month.
