Our partners at NBC-2 are reporting an active scene at the corner of Sumter Drive and New York Avenue where there was a report of multiple shots fired. No further information is available.

 

Police have made an arrest in connection with a threat to shoot up North Fort Myers High School. School officials found the threats scrawled on surfaces in one of the girls bathrooms. There was an increased police presence at the school Monday. The student arrested was a 16 years old female. Meanwhile there was a second arrest of a student for making a threat at Oak Hammock Middle School in Tice, and there were also threats reported at Mariner High School and Mariner Middle School in Cape Coral.

 

Authorities are investigating the death of a young Cape Coral firefighter who passed away over the weekend. Christopher Asseff of Port Charlotte, who had been with the department less than a year, was found dead in his apartment Saturday morning after he missed a shift the previous day.

 

Beer and wine can now be sold at Cape Coral’s Sunsplash Water Park. Alcohol sales were approved by the City Council and will begin when the park reopens on March 9th

Young & the Restless’ Star Kristoff St. John Dead at 52

  • Young & the Restless star Kristoff St. John was found dead in his home on Sunday, the soap opera star was found by one of his friends in San Fernando Valley, police arrived on the scene and pronounced him dead.
  • No foul play was found, however, alcohol is suspected to have played a role. St. John’s ex-wife Mia St. John took to social media and expressed her anger over the death of Kristoff writing, “THAT HOSPITAL KILLED OUR SON @TheArtofJulian THEN MY HUSBAND @kristoffstjohn1 THATS WHAT HAPPENED! THEY KILLED MY FAMILY”
  • Kristoff’s son committed suicide in 2014 while in a mental facility, the St. John’s sued the hospital for negligence and the suit was settled. In 2017 on the anniversary of Julian’s death, Kristoff was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold after threatening to kill himself with a gun.
  • Kristoff had earned nine Daytime Emmys for his role as Neil Winters, a role he had since 1991, he also won 10 NAACP Image Awards.

  • The Cincinnati Children’s Hospital set up a portal for people to send cards that will eventually be divided and passed out to all the children.
  • There are 9 different card options to choose from.
  • Several other hospitals conduct similar programs including St. Jude’s, Los Angeles, Boston, and Arkansas Children’s Hospitals.

  • One of the latest attractions at Universal Orlando Resort will either make you smile or gag.
  • Guy Diamond is one of the characters from the animated film Trolls. At the theme park, he walks around naked with a juicy troll booty.
  • Diamond not only farts at guests but glitter is fired out of his backside when he does it.
  • If you’ve seen the movie, Diamond does the same thing.

 

 

Could Hawaii Ban All Cigarette Sales?

  • The state of Hawaii could ban cigarette sales if a current bill is passed.
  • The legislation would gradually raise the age someone can buy cigarettes. The minimum age would go to 30 years old in 2020, 40 in 2021, 50 in 2022, 60 in 2023 and 100 years old in 2024.
  • The new law would not apply to e-cigs, chewing tobacco or cigars.
  • Hawaii’s current law bans sales of cigarettes to anyone under the age of 21.
