The Florida Highway Patrol is mourning the loss of one of it’s officers.  FHP Master Sergeant Daniel Hilton died from cardiac arrest  after a training exercise in Fort Myers. He was with the FHP for 32 years.

2 Cape Coral teens were arrested in connection with an attempted house robbery in the NW Cape  in which a firearm was discharged. 18 year old McKenzie Silverman and 15 year old Alexander Majewski have been charged with armed occupied burglary and grand theft of a firearm.

 

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s office is looking for a man who is wanted for allegedly performing lewd and lascivious acts on a child. 35 year old Michael Sprague may be driving a blue Ford Windstar van. If you have any information on his whereabouts,, you are urged to call CRIME STOPPERS.

 

Police called it ‘Operation Extraction” and now two people are under arrest for operating a dentists office that mainly served undocumented immigrants out of a garage in Northport. 48 year old Enrique Gravier, and 47 year old Adriana Gutierrez ran a practice called Enrique Dentistry. They’re both facing felony charges.

 

 

Playboy Interview with John Wayne Resurfaces

  • Twitter users were shocked after a 1971 Playboy interview with John Wayne resurfaced that was laden with racist and homosexual hate speech.
  • In the interview it’s clear that John Wayne expressed views that were racist, he believed that African Americans were “uneducated” and “irresponsible” and that they shouldn’t attend college because they weren’t “equipped scholastically.”
  • “I believe in white supremacy until the blacks are educated to a point of responsibility,” Wayne stated. The actor also spoke on Indians, who were often a part of his Western movies, “I don’t feel we did wrong in taking this great country away from them…There were great numbers of people who needed new land and the Indians were selfishly trying to keep it for themselves.”
  • John Wayne also says he didn’t support films such as Midnight Cowboy and Easy Rider and considered them to be “perverted.”  Patton Oswalt took to Twitter to condemn Wayne’s views tweeting, ‘If it’s supposed to be a black actor, naturally I use a black actor’ was as ‘woke’ as John Wayne got, I guess.”

 

 

“Green Eggs and Ham” Comes to Netflix

  • The Dr. Seuss classic Green Eggs and Ham will be reimagined for Netflix.
  • Ellen DeGeneres is the executive producer.
  • The animated series will use the voice talent of Michael Douglas, Diane Keaton, Adam Devine, Tracy Morgan, Ilana Izzard, Keegan-Michael Key, John Tutturo and others.
  • The show has been in the making since 2015.

 

Eat Pizza Instead of Cereal for Breakfast

  • No more shame in your pizza game! Time to add pizza to the list of “healthier” options to eat as a morning breakfast!
  • Ok, so, while it’s not exactly healthy to grab that leftover slice for an a.m. chow down, it is “healthier” than most of the sugar-loaded cereals out there you may have been eating instead.
  • A New York-based Nutritionist has said that a bowl of cereal with whole milk and an average slice of pizza have nearly the same amount of calories. As an added bonus, the higher protein count in pizza may keep you feeling fuller throughout the morning.
  • Now, we all know not all pizza and cereal is created equally, so the bowl of whole grain goods with nuts or seeds with a plant-based or grass-fed milk would be a healthier option, of course.

 

Where Is The Best Restaurant In The World?

  • A small beachside restaurant in South Africa has won the title of best restaurant in the world! The honor was given at the inaugural World Restaurant Awards in Paris.
  • The restaurant is called Wolfgat and it is located in the fishing village of Paternoster on the west coast of South Africa.
  • The six-person staff has no formal training. They serve a seven-course tasting menu for $60. The tiny space can only serve 20 people at a time.
  • The head chef said Wolfgat serves “predominantly seafood, and then we enhance that with some indigenous pickings that we find seasonally around the village, wild herbs, succulent seaweeds.”
