After a landslide vote in the Florida House, SB 182 got signed into law yesterday by Governor Ron DeSantis. This bill not only repeals the medical marijuana smoking ban that had been deadlocked by a state appeal, but it also allows doctors to order a 210-day supply of medical cannabis as opposed to the current 70 day limit.
Collier County deputies were on hand at 17th Avenue Southwest and Sunshine Boulevard in Golden Gate Estates yesterday after two teens were stabbed during a fight. Their injuries were not serious. A third teen was held for questioning.
Police have identified the two people killed in an overnight crash on Corkscrew Road Monday morning. 23 year old Megan Raynor of Immokalee and 67 year old Chan Lun of Port Charlotte were pronounced dead at the scene, Lun’s passenger was airlifted to the hospital. The investigation into the crash is continuing.
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 55 year old David Harmon and his accomplice 28 year old Samantha Labbe. They’ve been charged with the theft of more than $20,000 worth of jewelry firearms and other items from a home where they were staying. They’ve been charged with grand theft and dealing in stolen property
Police have arrested 29 year old Uriel Chavez—Rodriguez of Collier County has been arrested on charges of cruelty to a child after he allegedly attacked a young girl after snorting cocaine. According to the report, the girl was saved when her sister entered the room. Chavez-Rodriguez was taken to the Immokalee Jail Center.
