Charlotte County police are looking for a man who offered young girls food and drinks to leave with him while at the Cedar Grove Pool in Northport. The man was wearing a pink swimsuit and fedora and spoke in a thick German or Russian accent. If you know anything call the Northport P.D. This is the same pool where sex offender Timothy Rice allegedly became involved with several young girls. He was eventually arrested.

Our partners at NBC-2 report that Charlotte County doctor Eugene Gregush is facing criminal mischief charges after police say he was caught on surveillance video keying someones car in the parking lot at Fawcett Memorial Hospital. Reportedly he tried to compensate the victim but they refused and contacted police.

 

Our hats are off to South Trail fire crews, Fort Myers police officers, Lee County deputies, and FWC officers all worked to save a manatee that got stuck in a Fort Myers canal off Brantley Road. The 800 pound mammal will be taken to Orlando for treatment. FWC believes the manatee got into the canal during high tide

 

Georgia Engel, Emmy winning cast member of the “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” on which she played Georgette Franklin, girlfriend and eventually wife of  WJM-TV newsman Ted Baxter, died on Friday in Princeton, N.J. She was 70.

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli Plead Not Guilty in College Admissions Case

  • Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli have pled not guilty to the charges against them in the college cheating scandal.
  • The couple did not appear in court on Monday. The plea was filed by their attorneys.
  • Loughlin and Gianulli have been accused of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering in the attempt to get their daughters admitted to college. They allegedly paid $500,000 in bribe money to get the girls into USC.
  • The U.S. Attorney in Boston offered plea deals to the parents in the case. If they weren’t accepted, further charges were expected to be added on.

 

 

  • Delta Reducing How Far You Can Recline Your Seat

    • Delta Airlines plans on restricting how far you can recline your seat on some of their flights.
    • They are hoping for a balance for people who need to lean back a little and those who need space to work on the fold-down tray.
    • Delta is adjusting the recline by a couple of inches. The airline is only doing the adjustments on their A320 planes. These aircraft are for 1 to 2-hour domestic short haul flights.
    • Delta is not taking away any legroom to make these changes.

     

  • Dog Found Paddling in Ocean 130 Miles from Shore

    • A miracle dog found paddling in the ocean 130 miles from the nearest shore has found a new home with one his rescuers.
    • The dog, a brown Aspin, was rescued Friday after oil rig workers spotted his head bobbing up and down in the middle of the Gulf of Thailand. He made it to the oil platform but had no way of reaching the deck, says worker Vitisak Payalaw. “We decided to tie a rope around his neck and pull him to our site,” Vitisak says. “We had to race against time as the waves might sweep him away.” The workers named the shivering, exhausted dog Boonrod, which means “making a spiritual donation for good luck in the future” in Thai.
    • The oil rig crew brought Boonrod, who they suspect fell off a boat, to shore Monday. He’ll soon be heading home with Vitisak.
