It appears that the City of Cape Coral and the Dixie Roadhouse are getting closer to an agreement that will allow the bar to stay open until 3am. The bars extended hours had been suspended last December after several rowdy incidents culminating in an all out brawl that involved suspected gang members. The council will make their decision public at it’s next regular meeting on May 6th.

 

A 32 year old ER Tech at Physicians Regional Medical Center is under arrest for allegedly stealing a patients Rolex watch and selling it to a pawn shop. Karley Rey is facing several charges including grand theft, dealing in stolen property, and exploitation of the elderly.

 

One person died in a rollover crash on I-75 in Naples yesterday near Pine Ridge Road. No ID yet on the victim. The road was closed for several hours as a result of the crash.

 

A Melbourne Mom is under arrest after she left her 14 month old child in a hot car for five hours while she made a cocaine buy. The child died in the hospital two days later. Emily Hartman has been charged manslaughter by child neglect, possession of cocaine, and possession of cannabis.

  • TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People has a mix of people from different backgrounds. Entertainers and athletes are all over the list.
  • Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Taylor Swift, Gayle King, and Sandra Oh are among the people making the cover.
  • Others making the list include BTS, Lady Gaga, Glenn Close, Ariana Grande, Khalid, Mahershala Ali, Rami Malek, Spike Lee, Chrissy Teigen, Regina King and more.
  • Athletes making the list include LeBron James, Tiger Woods and Alex Morgan.

 

Alex Trebek Gives Health Update, Confirms He Will Return to Host ‘Jeopardy!’ Season 36

  • Jeopardy! Just wrapped Season 35.
  • Alex Trebek took to YouTube to let everyone know that he feels good and will return for Season 36. It kicks off in the Fall.
  • As always, he showed gratitude for all the cards and well wishes and said he has received a lot of cards from young people.

  • The Vegas sports bettor James Holzhauer is raking in the dough and breaking records on the game show “Jeopardy!”
  • James just bettered his own single-game winning number with a perfect game that made him $131,127 richer.
  • During his 10-day run, James has made a total of $697,787 and is second on the show’s all-time winnings list.

 

Notre Dame Cathedral Could Be Closed for Up To 6 Years

  • The devastating fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris shocked the world. The focus is now on rebuilding and restoring. That could take a while.
  • Notre Dame’s rector, Bishop Patrick Chauvet, spoke to local business people on Wednesday and admitted that the church could be closed for “5 to 6 years.”
  • Chauvet also said, “a segment of the cathedral has been very weakened.” He did not specify which segment.
  • It is unsure what the 67 employees of the church will do in the wake of the closure.

 

T-Mobile and Comcast Launching Anti-Robocall Feature

  • If you tired of robocalls hitting your phone, there might be help on the way.
  • T-Mobile and Comcast are working together on a cross-network feature to block robocalls and spam.
  • It is already available for T-Mobile customers and will soon be ready for Comcast Xfinity Voice home phone customers. Calls between both networks will be verified.
  • The feature works on certain Samsung phones that are the S8 model or later.

 

 

Carl’s Jr. To Test CBD-Infused Burger

  • This weekend, Carl’s Jr. will enter into the trendy world of CBD. For those that don’t know, CBD is the nonpsychoactive compound found in hemp and marijuana that is said to help anxiety and pain.
  • Carl’s Jr. will infuse CBD into a burger to be sold at one location in Denver, Colorado on 4/20 only.
  • The “Rocky Mountain High” burger will feature two beef patties, pepper-jack cheese, pickled jalapenos, waffle fries and about 5 milligrams of CBD extract mixed into their Santa Fe sauce.
  • It only makes sense for this to happen in Colorado. The state was one of the first to legalize recreational marijuana.

 

 

You’re Not Replacing Your Toothbrush Often Enough, and Frankly, It’s a Little Gross

  • Your toothbrush is great for removing bacteria but when you rinse it off, does it all go away?
  • The answer is no. Some bacteria can still be left on the brush and it’s for this reason your toothbrush needs to be replaced several times a year.
  • It is suggested that your replace your toothbrush every three months.
  • Maybe you don’t keep track of time well. An indicator that it’s time to replace your toothbrush is when the bristles become fanned out. At that point it is not cleaning your teeth properly.
