Threats of a bomb and a shooting closed the Naples Bowland Center Saturday night. The phone threat came in after 7pm Saturday night Saying there was a bomb at the Bowland location on Pine Ridge Road near US 41. That prompted an evacuation of the building, but no explosive device was found. There were further threats of a mass shooting, plus a threat to the Fort Myers Bowland. Bowland is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest.
One person was killed in an Easter afternoon boat crash on Pine Island Sound. The victims name is not available, and the investigation is continuing.
A Northport man was killed in a rollover crash on US 41 in Fort Myers over the weekend. Five people were hurt in the crash on US 41 and Avenue A. Police are continuing to look into the crash, No I.D. yet on the deceased.
A veteran Florida Sports broadcaster has been arrested and charged with allegedly attempting to solicit a 14 year old boy and sending him explicit photos. Justin Pawlowksi was caught in a sting by Tampa Police. He’s been charged with transmitting harmful material to a minor.
