  • One person was hospitalized after a shooting in Cape Coral yesterday afternoon. The shooting occurred at 1013 SE 24th Avenue near Viscaya Parkway. No further information is available.

50 year old Fort Myers Pizza Shop owner Stephen Sroka, arrested last week on child pornography charges, was found dead of an apparent self inflicted gun shot wound at his home on Myrtle Street over the weekend. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation

 

Testing will be done on the water at the Cape Coral Yacht Club this morning, after a swimming advisory was issued last week due to high levels of fecal bacteria. A dead manatee carcass was pulled from the water Sunday. It’s not clear if the manatee died from the polluted water.

Worst Accident Ever? Tractor-Trailer Full Of Poop Spills Onto Highway

  • What’s the worst thing that could spill out of an overturned truck?  That question may have just been answered Monday morning in Seattle – human poop.
  • A tractor-trailer carrying fertilizer made from human waste overturned on I-90 outside of Seattle, after police say the driver fell asleep and rolled over onto his side.
  • Workers in hazmat suits were left to clean up the mess, even bringing in a snowplow to clear out all the poop.  Fortunately, the driver suffered only minor injuries and no one else was hurt.

 

 

U.S. Measles Cases Approach Record Highs

  • The number of measles cases in the U.S. continues to rise, approaching record numbers, according to the CDC.
  • Another 71 cases were reported last week, bringing this year’s total up to 626, just a few dozen short of the 2014 record of 667.  The CDC expects that record to be shattered “in the coming weeks”.
  • So far, measles cases have been reported in 22 states, with the most cases coming in New York.  Experts say that outbreak began when an unvaccinated child contracted the disease in Israel.
  • Officials have recommended that anyone born between 1957 and 1989 get an additional MMR vaccine as they might not be fully protected.

 

Jenna Bush Hager Is Pregnant With Third Child

  • Lots of baby news floating around the Today show. Jenna Bush Hager is pregnant with her third child.
  • The news comes only a week after Hoda Kotb announced she adopted a baby girl.
  • Jenna revealed the news on Monday morning’s Today. She said her two daughters, ages 3 and 6, found out about the new sibling ins their Easter baskets.
