21 year old Thadjarvis Armstrong of Lehigh Acres has been arrested and charged with the drive by shooting that injured a Fort Myers man Armstrong is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm from a vehicle. He’s being held on $100,000 bond.

Deputy Chance, a dog found in Lehigh Acres a few months back with his mouth taped shut, has gotten a second chance as a police dog with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and now the man police believe perpetrated the abuse on Chance has been arrested. He’s identified as 18 tear old Oscar Lee Thompson III.He’s been charged with animal cruelty.

 

Four out of ten gas pumps at a Gateway 7-11 were found to have credit card skimmers installed back on May 18th. An employee found the skimmers during a routine check. The 7-11 is located at 12011 Gateway Boulevard.

 

A 9 year old Sarasota boy identified as Chance Miller was killed yesterday while riding his bike to school. He was hit by a Chevy Silverado. That driver is cooperating in the investigation. Chance later died at an area hospital.

Whole Foods To Ban Plastic Straws

  • Whole Foods Market is doing its part to reduce plastic waste.
  • Responding to customer demands, the grocery chain will stop providing plastic straws to customers at their juice and coffee bars as well as their cafes.
  • Whole Foods claims to be the first national grocery chain to make this change.
  • That’s not all. Whole Foods will also start using smaller plastic bags in the produce department. In addition, they plan to replace the hard plastic packaging for their grab and go rotisserie chickens.

Game of Thrones Fans Anxious to Cancel HBO Subscriptions

  • After HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones came to an end Sunday,  fans are allegedly anxious to cancel their subscription to HBO.
  • The cable service has been experiencing a mass exodus of subscribers since the end of the show last night, and that petition asking for HBO to redo the final season didn’t help at all.
  • One fan on Twitter wrote, “The Game of Thrones finale was actually better than I expected. Completely unrelated – does anyone know how to cancel an HBO subscription? Asking for a friend.”

Whitney Houston’s Estate Plans New Album and Hologram Tour

  • Whitney Houston’s music lives on with plans to release music from the vault and take a hologram of the music legend on the road.
  • Houston’s estate announced the hologram tour and the album of unreleased songs on Monday.
  • The tour will include Houston’s original backup singers and band.
  • Other potential posthumous projects include a Broadway show and a Las Vegas revue.
