Police are looking for an older Hispanic male who they believe crashed his truck into a Family Dollar Store in Lehigh Acres yesterday afternoon. The driver fled the scene in a white truck following the crash, The store has re-opened.

A Cape Coral teen who has been in trouble with the law before, has been arrested for trying to steal a car and running from the police. 15 year old Alexander Majewski has been charged with grand theft of a vehicle, driving without a valid license, and other charges.

 

Are Women Happier Without A Spouse or Kids?

  • A happiness expert says women are better off without a spouse and children. Paul Dolan is the author of Happiness By Design. 
  • During a talk last weekend, Dolan said, “Married people are happier than other population subgroups, but only when their spouse is in the room when they’re asked how happy they are. When the spouse is not present: f—ing miserable.”
  • His theory is that middle-aged married women have a higher risk of developing mental and physical ailments than single women. Dolan also says married women tend to die sooner.
  • Dolan says there are a lot of benefits for unmarried women without kids but society tends to pity them: “You see a single woman of 40, who has never had children – ‘Bless, that’s a shame, isn’t it? Maybe one day you’ll meet the right guy and that’ll change.’ No, maybe she’ll meet the wrong guy and that’ll change.”

 

Women Need Twice As Many Public Washrooms as Men, New Report Says

  • A New United Kingdom report states that women need more public bathrooms than men due to menstruation, clothing restrictions and based on the women’s anatomy.
  • The report calls the disparity “potty parity” which means a need for equal speed of access to public restrooms.
  • The report says that lack of bathrooms affects the elderly, disabled people, outdoor workers and the homeless.
  • As most women agree, there is a lack of public restrooms at amusement parks, tourist attractions, and shopping centers.

 

Elton John Says Studios Wanted ‘Rocketman’ To Be PG-13

Rocketman will hit theaters this week, and Elton John says he fought to make sure his life story remained R-rated on the big screen.
  • In a piece for The Guardian, John said that studios “wanted to tone down the sex and drugs” to get a PG-13 rating.  But Elton pushed back, saying “I just haven’t led a PG-13 rated life”.
  • John says he “didn’t want a film packed with drugs and sex” but that “everyone knows I had quite a lot of both during the 70’s and 80’s.”
  • Rocketman will be in theaters this Friday, May 31st.
