49 year old Anthony Masters, arrested 15 times since 1987, has been arrested and charged with last January’s robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank on Pine Island Road in Cape Coral. Police believe that Masters may have been involved in three other bank robberies in Cape Coral and Fort Myers in the past year. He’s been charged with 3-counts of Robbery and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Lee County Sheriff’s conducted a traffic stop  yesterday that yielded an arrest plus they seized bags with about eight ounces of marijuana, four guns and several magazines from a car in a shopping center on Boy Scout Drive and US-41.

 

Lee County Deputies also made a drug arrest in Pine Manor raiding a home and  inside deputies seizing “pounds of marijuana, opiates, fentanyl, and multiple dangerous guns, according to Sheriff Carmine Marceno”

 

He ran from cops then called 911 to brag

  • Is this a lesson in humility? Leaving well enough alone? Or that, in the end, everyone gets their due?
  • A St. Augustine, Florida man called 911 to brag after he ditched a traffic stop. Authorities say 19-year-old Nicholas Carlmann Jones was stopped for a traffic light violation. As the St. Johns County Deputy approached, Jones burned rubber.
  • He likely would have gotten away with if the smug teen hadn’t dialed 911 an hour later to antagonize, “Like, what do we pay you guys for?” Adding, “Like, I’ve driven past four cops.”.
  • News4Jax reports authorities didn’t have his correct license plate number and were only able to track Jones down because of his call. By the way, he also had a warrant out for his arrest.
  • Jones later laughed at himself saying, “That’s funny. So I told on myself?,” adding, “No cop can catch me in my Hyundai Elantra, that thing is fast.”

 

Florida Mom Upset After Teacher Writes ‘WTF?’ on Son’s Homework

  • An apparent attempt to be relatable to her students has backfired on a Florida teacher, who may face disciplinary action for writing “WTF” on a teen’s homework assignment.
  • Melinda Smith, the mother of the Rutherford High School student who received the comment, says she was offended when she saw what the teacher had written across the top of her son’s science paper: “WTF is this? Absolutely no credit!” Smith says, “It wasn’t anything about not getting the credit; it was more so the language, about what they’re writing to a student. That was very inappropriate and not acceptable for a teacher whatsoever.”
  • Smith notified the school’s principal, Coy Pilson, who says he’s waiting to hear back from the school district before taking action. Regardless of the outcome, he wants to make it clear that the unnamed teacher’s behavior is not representative of the rest of the staff. “All of the teachers at Rutherford High School are caring, loving teachers,” he says. “We’re also human and so we make mistakes … and when we make mistakes, we try to correct those mistakes and move forward.”

 

Boy George’s Life Getting Movie Treatment; MGM Sets Sacha Gervasi to Write & Direct Story of Culture Club Leader

  • MGM has announced that they’ve tapped writer and director Sacha Gervasi, known for My Dinner with Herve and Anvil: The Story of Anvil, to bring the story of Boy George to the big screen.
  • MGM is also set to bring Aretha Franklin’s story to movie theaters, Franklin had already confirmed Jennifer Hudson to portray her in the musical biopic.
  • MGM’s Motion Picture Group President, Jonathan Glickman, says “there is no one better suited for Gervasi to tell Boy George’s story.”
  • Coming from humbling Irish beginnings Boy George became an international superstar in the ’80s, selling over 100 million singles and 50 million albums. Boy George was way ahead of his time with his openness about his identity, sparking inspiration from fans across the world.

 

Hallmark Gives First Look at 2019 “Countdown To Christmas” Movies

  • Yes, it’s still only May. Hallmark thought it would be a good time to give us a sneak peek into their Countdown to Christmas movies.
  • We previously found out that Hallmark is preparing 40 movies for the season. That’s a record number to celebrate 10 years of filling the holidays with the made for TV films.
  • This year, Hallmark will include 2 movies celebrating Hanukkah during the countdown.
  • Blake Shelton will executive produce and supply music for one of the movies as well.
