Suzanne Owen, a former teacher at Evangelical Christian School has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison after she had an improper relationship with a 17 year old student. Once she’s released from prison Owen will be placed on probation for ten years.
Police have identified the man’s body pulled from a lake at the Briar Landings community in Naples as 30 year old Winston Louis. Witnesses say Louis was acting strangely before going into the water. His friends tried to find him in the water, but were unsuccessful. The investigation is continuing…As Charlotte County Police continue to investigate a domestic incident on McKinley Terrace in Englewood in which a man was shot. Police say Bradley Rundle took a shot at deputies. They returned fire and the suspect was killed. The deputies have been placed on leave.
What appears to be a group rental home on Fort Myers Beach was the scene of tragedy over the weekend, when one of the guests at the home, dove off a second floor balcony, missed the pool, and landed on his head on the concrete deck. The victim’s name has not been released, but had to be airlifted to the hospital.
Despite protests from many parents, the Lee County School District has decided not to change start times for the upcoming school year, which means a continuance of kids waiting at their bus stops in the dark. The district plans to change some bus stops and routes to improve efficiency and light up the bus stops as well to make them safer.
