The Hillsborough County School District in Tampa ran out of free food for students yesterday and it’s all because of some greedy opportunistic individuals.

The school district gives families free food to pick up at 147 sites in Hillsborough County once a week.

Some people are visiting multiple sites on the same day to receive free food and then selling it online. Families were getting one pound of lunch meat, bread, milk, juice and other snacks that was meant to last the entire week.

The district estimates that people in more than 50 cars went to multiple locations to receive free food then went online using social media to sell everything for profit.

The district is considering changing it’s system to make sure people are not taking advantage.
