This May Be The Best Way To Watch ‘Tenet’: On A Game Boy

YouTuber Bob Wulff may have come up with the weirdest way to watch Christopher Nolan's Tenet: on a Game Boy Advance.

At a whopping six frames per second, you can watch Nolan's latest film.. on a handheld Nintendo device. Be warned: it'll be blurry.

Wulff attributed his inspiration to "how much Christopher Nolan really wanted you to go to the theaters to see this movie, you know, IN THE MIDDLE OF A GLOBAL PANDEMIC."

He then quoted Nolan in the video, "This is a film whose image and sound really needs to be enjoyed in your theaters on the big screen."

The YouTuber managed to fit the two-and-a-half hour time-inversion film on to five Game Boy Advance video cartridges, compressed down to a 192 x 128 resolution. The max amount of time allotted for each Game Boy video cartridge is thirty minutes, which is why five cartridges were needed to complete this masterpiece.

You may fast forward and restart the video with the Game Boy Advance, but holding down the fast forward button for too long will crash the ROM software.

As for the viewing experience, Bob Wulff described it as "absolutely abysmal." The sound isn't much better, as the Game Boy Advance could not pick up the sound of the quieter scenes within Tenet.

Bob Wulff missed no detail on his work of art, outfitting each cartridge with custom-made labels to make it look authentic as if it really came out of the early 2000s.

Wulff even turned his YouTube video above into a ROM download that you can load into a GBA emulator.

Because of Nolan's notion of theater-only release, Tenet was postponed multiple times due to the rolling closings of movie theaters nationwide.
