Be Human on Wine Wednesday
Be Human on Wine Wednesday is not a behavioral suggestion, although for some it should be. Be Human is a wine brand from Columbia Valley in Washington State that I was introduced to a couple of years ago.
Some fantastic wines are coming out of Columbia Valley, and it’s Horse Heaven Hills AVA. If you are looking to expand your wine experience, start looking for wines from these areas as an alternative to Napa and Sonoma.
The rainy weekend was a recipe for cooking, and brownies were on the agenda, from scratch. They were fantastic with the 2019 cabernet sauvignon, $17 as pictured above.
The wine had hints of mocha and dark berries, and was also quite good with the main course–grilled meat and BBQ. It’s nice to find a wine that can carry through multiple courses.
Be Human makes a lovely merlot and red blend that is more of a classic Bordeaux style with merlot, cab and petite verdot.
The rose ($18) is also made from cabernet grapes. It has a little more body than many roses, and a slight herbal quality that makes it delicious with a charcuterie board and goat cheese. Find more rose suggestions here.
Finding good, affordable wines is always a goal. It’s even better when those brands have a mission. Be Human donates $1 from every bottle purchased to Meals on Wheels.
Wine brings people together and while there may be few words on this label, those words say a lot. Be Human on Wine Wednesday, and every day.
Cheers
