Travis Kelce Feels ‘Protective’ of Taylor Swift, He Says on His NFL Podcast
On the latest episode of “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce,” which was just released Wednesday (Oct. 18), the Kansas City Chiefs star talked about his much buzzed-about interaction with a security guard last weekend, when he and Swift were out in New York City. He put his hand on the security guard’s back, as to say, “Hey, I’ve got this,” and everyone has been commenting on the move.
“I feel like whenever I’m on a date, I’m always having the sense that I’m the man in the situation, I’m like protective,” Travis said on the podcast. “You always kind of have that feeling or self-awareness I guess.” Call me old fashioned, but I think it’s cute when a guy feels “protective” of his girl. Travis added that as he took Swift around down in their car, he wanted to look out for her security as much as they were trying to protect the new couple.
Moreover, Travis said, to those who thought he pushed the security guard, that, “I didn’t push him. I placed my hand on the gentleman’s back to let him know I was behind him. If I would have pushed him he probably would have turned around and tased me.” He also said of Swift’s security, “They’re great, they’re great, they’re good people.”
The Kansas City Chief’s next game is Sunday (Oct. 22) against the Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City. No word yet on if Taylor will be there.
