A Massive 198-Pound Snake Was Caught In Collier County
A lot of people find enjoyment in hunting pythons and a massive 198-pound snake was caught in Collier County.
We all know in the Everglades there’s pythons galore. I’ve wanted to go hike in that park, but I’m scared to death I’d be walking on a trail and have one of those slither my way. I’ve never been a fan of snakes, so the idea of a 198-pound python is terrifying. In fact, it’s the 2nd heaviest snake to ever be caught in the state of Florida.
A 198-Pound Snake Was Caught In Collier County
The massive snake was caught in Big Cypress National Preserve in Collier County. Mike Elfenbein told News 6 that he was on the way to dinner with his son when they came across a group of men trying to wrangle the snake. They hopped out to help. He said the snake was so big and so wild, it took all 5 of them on top of it to calm it down. The snake was over 17 feet long and 198 pounds. You may wonder what a snake that big eats. Snakes are known to eat everything from small mammals, to gators and birds. When this snake was opened up, they found bone shards from a deer and almost 30 pounds of fat. No wonder it was so big!
