16 year old William Jenkins was killed Saturday night in a kayaking accident near the Sanibel Causeway. According to reports, Jenkins suffered from epilepsy which may have contributed to his death. An investigation is underway.

A small plane crash in Naples led to the death of the pilot, identified as 71 year old William Gaston Jr. Gaston’s plane crashed on Hawthorn Woods Way Saturday afternoon. No one else was hurt.

 

Police are investigating what store officials are calling a sexual assault at the Cape Coral Wal-Mart on Del Prado Blvd. The alleged assault happened yesterday afternoon. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is continuing.

 

Alyssa Milano calls for nationwide ‘sex strike’ to protest Georgia abortion law. In a tweet, The former star of “Charmed” and “Melrose Place” urged women  to stop having sex “until we get bodily autonomy back.” Her tweet came  after Georgia became the fourth state in the U.S. this year to ban abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected.

 

 

Mod Squad’ Star Peggy Lipton, Mother of Rashida and Kidada Jones, Dead at 72

  • Actress Peggy Lipton has died at the age of 72.
  • She was the star of the 1960’s TV show, “The Mod Squad” and she was in the 1990’s show, “Twin Peaks”
  • She was married from 1974-1989 to music producer Quincy Jones. They had two daughters together, Rashida and Kidada.
  • In a joint statement the sisters said, she made her journey peacefully with her daughters and nieces by her side.We feel so lucky for every moment we spent with her.
  • Peggy Lipton died of cancer on Saturday.

 

Instagram Testing Ditching ‘Likes’ in Canada

  • Canada has already started testing ditching ‘likes’ on Instagram.
  • Followers can still ‘like’ and comment on photos but the “outside world” won’t be able to see the exact count of people who’ve liked it. Much like Instagram Story.
  • In Canada, they have found that people are posting more and spending more time on the site without stressing about how the post is performing.
  • An Instagram with no ‘likes’ could be good for mental health but bad for influencers who make their living off of ‘likes.’
