Food Stamp Recipients Can Now Order Their Food Online At Walmart
A new pilot program at Walmart sounds promising for food stamp recipients.
The program aims to help people who receive food stamps to order their food online.
While food stamps are not accepted online, customers can place their order and use their food stamp benefits in person when they pick up their order.
According to CNBC, the program is currently only offered at one store in Houston, Texas and four stores in close proximity to Boise, Idaho. However, the chain plans to roll out the new food stamp online initiative to several more stores across the country in the coming months.
Currently, close to 44 million people in the United States rely on food stamps to feed themselves or their families.
