Meet Penelope, this dog needs a home. This beautiful, sweet dog has been at the Gulf Coast Humane Society for six months now. That is longer than normal and although they love love love here there, they want her to have a forever home. She was accompanied by Brian who could not gush enough about this dog.
About Penelope
There a couple of challenges to finding her a home. First, she is an older dog, 7 1/2 years to be exact. Many people who visit the shelter are looking for puppies. However, older dogs make great pets. They are more settled, housetrained and over the annoying chewing phase.
Penelope was so comfortable in the studio and with all the people who stopped by to pet her. She needs a home.
Next, Penelope needs to be in a home where she is the only dog. She rules the roost. Finally, she is a terrier mix, a pit bull. Some people shy away from these dogs. The folks at the Humane Society are so confident with her good temperament that they use Penelope as an ambassador. She is taken to senior centers and assisted living facilities to interact with residents. In addition, the dog goes to schools where she gets a lot of attention from kids.
Everyone in the building stopped by to see Penelope. They were petting her, hugging her, kissing her. And she loved every minute of it. If you are looking for a dog, maybe Penelope is the one for you.
