It’s seems like not too long ago there was a stigma attached to getting a tattoo. Now it’s the most common thing in the world. I actually think that when I get old enough to be in a Fort Myers or Naples nursing home that I’ll be the only one there that doesn’t have ink. It’s not that I’m scared, I just can’t really commit to anything. Let alone something as permanent as a tattoo. But if I did, what would I get? Something unusual, or something common. Since we’re here in the Sunshine State, what’s the most popular tattoo in Florida?

Zippia did the research on this one. They found that approximately 30% of Americans have tattoos. The number of people with tattoos in the US has increased by 21% since 2012. And it’s not just tramp stamps and barbed wire armbands. As more people get tats, their tastes show up in Google searches.

Here’s how they did it: “Using Google Trends, we determined what tattoo each state gets more than any other state, using search proxy as a way to measure tattoo intent.” After collecting a full year of data, it shows that the most popular ink to get varies greatly from state to state. And the most popular tattoo in Florida is…
