Next, to narrow down the numbers, the folks at Billboard looked for songs with love, or some variation of love in the title. Finally, they assign points to each song. The points system is somewhat complicated because of the way Billboard has evolved over the years. However, they take the time spent in the #1 spot of the charts as a base. Record sales may pay the bills, but the coveted #1 spot on Billboard is a gold standard for an artists’ success.

Songs falling just shy of the top ten, counting down from number fifteen are:
