First of all, don’t panic at this news. However, there are only two more weekends left before Christmas. This is one of them. Family and friends might be coming into town, so it helps to know what activities are taking place to entertain them. Not to mention entertain yourself.

What is happening in Southwest Florida for the holidays
Numerous holiday events are going on throughout the rest of the holiday season. Light Up The Nights is a big light display at Fisherman’s Village in Punta Gorda. The Edison and Fort Winter Estates in Fort Myers hosts the annual Holiday Nights. The grounds and historic homes are decorated to the hilt. In Naples, Third Street South has nightly celebrations with music and entertainment. In addition, almost every major shopping center in the area has music, displays, Santa and other fun activities, besides shopping that is.
Many events have been reimagined due to Hurricane Ian. Even some that are still listed on various calendars have changed so it never hurts to call ahead or check social media sites for updates.
Speaking of Hurricane Ian. We understand the holidays are a little different for a lot of people this year following the storm. Please take care of yourself. Brews for the Birds, Naples Wonder Gardens
December 9th is the rescheduled date fo Brews for the Birds at Naples Wonder Gardens. It’s a benefit to fund the rescue, rehabilitation and care of non-releasable birds. There will be food trucks, beer, wine, prizes and lots more at the event that begins at 5:30. $50
Holiday in Park, Movie in the park
This movie in the park is put on by Lee County Black History Society and is part of the 10th Annual Holiday In The Park festivities at Roberto Clemente Park. It’s at 3265 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The event kicks off Friday (12/09) at 6pm.
Movies in the Park Holiday Edition, Bonita Springs
The City of Bonita Springs continues it’s outdoor movie series Friday (12/09) with a holiday edition. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to Riverside Park on Old US 41 to watch Polar Express. Gathering at 5:30, movie begins at dusk. The park is open all month to stroll through and view the holiday lights.
The Nutcracker Ballet
The Nutcracker Ballet is a decades long holiday tradition. See it Saturday at Barbara B Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers. Shows are Saturday (12/10) at 3pm and again at 8pm. Seats are still available.
Breakfast With Santa
This is a holiday breakfast buffet at Cantina Laredo in Fort Myers to benefit Valerie’s House. Valerie’s House has a variety of services and help for Southwest Florida children who have lost a parent or loved one and are grieving. The event is Saturday from 9am-noon. $25
