Adele’s New Album Will Reportedly Drop This Year & It Will Be Therapeutic
Hello, it’s Adele and she’s getting ready to release her new album later this year, according to People. And, after splitting with her husband Simon Konecki in April, this one might be a tearjerker.
“She is definitely getting ready both mentally and physically to promote new music. It seems it will happen later this year,” a source close to the singer reportedly told People. “She talks about last year as a very difficult year, and she’s said in the past that creating new music is almost like therapy. You can tell that she is ready to share with her fans.”
On her 31st birthday in May, Adele teased her new album with an Instagram post that had her writing why she was happy to be another year older. “30 tried me so hard but I’m owning it and trying my hardest to lean in to it all,” she wrote, adding, “31 is going to be a big ol’ year and I’m going to spend it all on myself.”
She also joked that her new album, which she hinted would be called 30, might be a little different than her last. “Bunch of f—ing savages,” she wrote, “30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you.”
Here’s to Adele making dance music that we can cry our eyes out to. That feels very fitting for 2019.
