Lady Gaga Stuns on the October Cover of ‘Allure’ Magazine
Lady Gaga is on the cover of Allure‘s “Best of Beauty” issue, and she’s discussing everything from her Haus Laboratories beauty brand to her continuous fight for LGBTQ+ equality.
When discussing with Allure about why she decided to create a makeup line, Gaga reflects on her insecurities growing up.”I never felt beautiful, and I still have days that I don’t feel beautiful. All of the insecurities that I’ve dealt with my whole life from being bullied when I was younger, they come right back up to bite me. Then I put makeup on, and before I know it I feel this superhero within. It gives me those wings to fly.”
She also explains that makeup is what helped her create the Lady Gaga persona. “When I became Lady Gaga when I was younger, it was because I discovered makeup. It means so much to me on a deep visceral level – the power of makeup to change how you feel when you’re at your lowest.”
When discussing something she is passionate and well-known for, like fighting for the LGBTQ+ community, Lady Gaga explains that Haus Laboratories will help further the cause. “I would like all gender identities to know very clearly that they are included, and never exploited, ever… I want the same thing that I’ve had in my concerts to happen with this company. If I’m not changing people’s lives, what are we doing here?”
The October issue of Allure is out now.
