Mary J. Blige Documentary Slated To Hit Amazon Prime
There’s exciting news for fans of the Queen of Hip-hop Soul, Mary J. Blige. Oscar-winning filmmaker Vanessa Roth is currently producing a documentary that is currently untitled about nine-time Grammy winner Mary J. Blige, as Deadline reports.
The documentary will be centered around the two-time Oscar nominee’s former struggles with poverty, abuse, addiction, and heartbreak. It will also follow Blige during her special concert tour where she performs My Life for the first time ever, as the album turned 25 this past November.
Blige will serve as the executive producer under the singers Blue Butterfly banner alongside Eone’s Tara Long, Creature Films’ Mark Ford and Kevin Lopez, Diddy, and Ashaunna Ayars and Nicole Jackson of Blue Butterfly.
