CDC Adds 6 New Possible Coronavirus Symptoms
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has added six new symptoms to its list of potential signs of the coronavirus. Up until now, the CDC only listed fever, cough and shortness of breath as symptoms.
The updated list now includes: chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat and new loss of taste or smell. Shortness of breath has also been changed to “shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.” The full list now is
- Fever
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Chills
- Repeated shaking with chills
- Muscle pain
- Headache
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
The CDC notes that these symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. The CDC now recommends that people seek medical attention immediately if they develop any of the following warning signs:
- Trouble breathing
- Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
- New confusion or inability to arouse
- Bluish lips or face
