Florida Keys Will Reopen To Visitors on June 1
The Florida Keys will reopen its doors to tourists and visitors on Monday, June 1, ending a more than two-month pause to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
Checkpoints at mile marker 112.5 on U.S. 1 and State Road 905 will be removed and lodging businesses such as motels, vacation rentals, marinas, RV parks, and timeshares will be authorized to take guests at 50 percent occupancy, Monroe County Emergency Management said in a statement.
Monroe County lodging establishments will be required to implement sanitation procedures and follow the American Hotel and Lodging Association COVID-19 guidelines for enhanced cleaning practices.
Airport screenings and bus restrictions will also be lifted on June 1.
The Florida Keys have been closed to visitors since March 22 to minimize the spread of COVID-19.
