Behind the Scenes at Sunny 106.3
Giving you a look behind the scenes at Sunny 106.3 today. People ask all the time what it’s like to get up so early and sound so awake, especially when you sometimes stay out past your self imposed curfew.
Coffee
Well that’s one of the key ingredients to success. As you can see in this video I put together recently, stopping by the break room for a hot cup0 of joe is one of the fist orders of business for me as well as many of my colleagues.
There is actually a lot going on in the building every morning. My hallway is home to numerous studios that are always full. Walking down the winding hall on the way to break room is always an adventure. Sometimes all I hear is excitement, yelling, like when baseball season kicked off.
Sometimes it’s eerily quiet, like after that school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Although we are all different, there are somethings we all have in common, just like life.
But it’s always like a disco with lots of flashing red lights that read “On Air.”

As you can see, the Sunny studio is very…sunny…with it’s bright yellow walls. I’m not sure if that color helps in waking me up every morning but I have to think it plays a roll. The studio is big enough for several guests, but so far it’s just been me.
When I’m not on the air or answering phones, I’m doing things like writing about how coffee drinkers live longer, finding great cocktail recipes to share, and of course in the middle of the week celebrating Wine Wednesday with something new like this one from North Carolina, and this one from Napa.
I’m enjoying playing around with these TikTok videos and Reels on Instagram but understand that not everyone has accounts so I’ll try to post more here. Cheers
