Joe Perry on the First Time He Met Steven Tyler
Joe Perry was likely pretty annoyed with Steven Tyler the first time he met the singer.
The Aerosmith guitarist touched on this moment in a new interview with Classic Rock. Apparently, months before they became bandmates, Perry met Tyler when he was working in a diner, and the future Demon of Screamin’ wasn’t the best customer.
Perry said Tyler and his then-bandmates would eat at this diner and make an absolute mess.
He recalled, “I remember them rolling in and basically behaving like what they thought rock stars should do, which was throw food at each other. So they left and I had to clean up after them.”
Of course, Aerosmith now likely have people that clean up after them, and they’ll undoubtedly be on the road with the band soon. Aerosmith’s “Peace Out” farewell tour kicks off in September. A full list of dates is below.
