Can This Gas Station In Bonita Springs Sell A 2nd Winning Powerball Ticket?
There’s an old saying “Lightning never strikes the same place twice.” That’s actually 100% false. Lightning can, and often will, hit the same spot multiple times. So now you’re wondering how I’m going to work Florida thunderstorms into a story about a gas station in Bonita Springs that sells Powerball tickets. Here it is.
I’m sure you know, the Powerball jackpot for Wednesday, July 19th is up to 1 billion dollars. That’s an estimated cash value of $516.8 Million. No matter where you are in Southwest Florida, you’re never more than a few minutes away from a store that sells Powerball tickets. So is there such a thing as a lucky store? I’m going to find out.
This 7 11 in Bonita Springs sold a winning Powerball jackpot ticket three years ago.
It’s the store at 12931 Bonita Beach Road in Bonita Springs. Just east of I75. There’s nothing special about it, and when I went there it wasn’t too busy. On January 29, 2020 that store sold a $396.9 million dollar winning Powerball ticket. It was purchased by a woman from Ocala. Not sure what happened to her, I haven’t seen her on that ‘Lottery Changed My Life‘ show so I hope she’s doing well.
So can lightning strike twice?
No idea. But I went to the store and bought my Powerball tickets at that store this morning. I don’t recall the same store ever selling a 2nd winning ticket in the history of Powerball, so maybe now’s the time. And Florida is due for a winner. So why not me? The last winning Powerball ticket in Florida was back in 2021 when someone in Jacksonville won $286 million. There’s actually been several Florida winners over the years, here’s the list if you want to check it out. Remember we had that big winner in Golden Gate 9 years ago? I’m going to try my luck at this 7-11 in Bonita Springs.
Speaking of luck, it is National Hot Dog Day. I may try my luck on one of these roller dogs.
