The #1 Most Famous Restaurant In Florida Is In Miami Beach
Down here in Florida we are known to have some great food and amazing restaurants. Think key lime pie, Cuban sandwiches, seafood.
When I think of some famous restaurants here in Florida, I think of Bern’s Steakhouse in Tampa, Blue Heaven in Key West and maybe the Bubble Room out on Captiva.
But, I have to absolutely agree with the restaurant that has been named the #1 most famous restaurant in Florida. No question.
Love Food set out to find the most famous restaurant in each state across the United States. To do this, they based their selections on genuine user reviews, awards and accolades, and the first-hand experiences of the Love Food team.
Most Famous Restaurant In Florida
So, what restaurant did they say is most famous in Florida? No brainer here. It’s Joe’s Stone Crab in Miami Beach.
In 1913, Joe Weiss opened up a small lunch counter on Miami Beach. This was before Miami Beach was even a city. Folks stopped in to chat and for a top-notch fish sandwich and fries. This, of course, was only the beginning, and what happened next is a story worth telling. Read more about the story behind Joe’s Stone Crab here.
Today, the brand is still operated by the same family, now with locations in Chicago, Washington DC and Las Vegas. Reportedly, Joe’s is referred to in the movie Goldfinger as Bill’s On The Beach, the best meal James Bond ever had in his life.
If you’re nowhere near the original location down here in Florida, no problem. Joe’s now offers overnight shipping. You can get the classic claws, crab cakes, lobster, desserts all delivered right to your doorstep!
All 40 Miami Publix Locations Ranked From First To Worst
I woke up this morning to see Publix was trending. “Now what?” was the first thing that came to mind. But, as it turns out, it wasn’t a bad thing. Lionel Messi just moved to Miami and he was shopping at a Publix, picking up family size boxes of cereal among other things. I couldn’t tell which Miami Publix he was at. But a few people recognized him.

If Messi truly wants to embrace the Florida culture, he needs to pick up Pub Subs for the family. He’ll learn. But that got me thinking. How does someone new to Miami know which Publix to go to? We Floridians know that all Publix are not created equal. Some Miami Publix are much better than others. Sometimes it’s their location. Some stores rank lower because they could really use a remodel. Or, it could be the staff that alters their rank. Whatever you want to point at, it’s a simple fact. It’s not uncommon to go to a Publix that’s further away than your closest Publix because you like that store better.
The Miami Publix Stores Ranked
With the help of Google reviews we’ve come up with a way to rank the stores here in Miami. I counted 40, I’m sure someone will let me know if I missed one. Also, if you recognize which store Messi was at, let me know.
Floridians are passionate about Publix, and even if you say you never shop there, you have. We all have. Where else are you going to get a chicken tender sub buffalo style shaken? In the picture above, you can see in Messi’s cart that he has family size boxes of cereal. Are they BOGO this week? We’ll need to teach him about that, too. So from best to worst, here’s how the Miami stores ranked.
