Flavor Flav Meeting Bruce Springsteen is Delightfully Wholesome
Flavor Flav meeting Bruce Springsteen is something you’d think would’ve happened years ago, but it happened just last week.
The Public Enemy hype man shared a video on Instagram meeting The Boss backstage at his March 22 tour stop in Las Vegas with the E Street Band. Flav was clearly beside himself meeting Springsteen and told Bruce it was an honor meeting him.
Flav also shared a video of himself literally dancing around to “Dancing in the Dark” during Springsteen’s show. He was clearly having a great time.
Flavor Flav Meeting Bruce Springsteen: How Did This Moment Happen?
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Flav hung out E Street Band guitarist Stevie Van Zandt at an event the night before the Springsteen show. The rapper asked Van Zandt if a meet-up would be possible, and fortunately for Flav, it was.
Flav told the outlet, “I had never, ever met Bruce Springsteen in my life, but let me tell you … It was one of the greatest, most rewarding experiences in my life. I was starstruck.”
The rapper also told the outlet he gifted Springsteen and Van Zandt with some desk clocks, which is a nod to the clock accessory he wears around his neck.
Springsteen’s Health
The Boss has been enjoying his return to the road with the E Street Band after being on the shelf for about six months due to peptic ulcer disease. In fact, he was concerned about whether he’d be able to sing again.
As previously reported, Springsteen detailed in a new interview the many of the mental and physical aspects of dealing with peptic ulcer disease. He described how the stress and pain in his diaphragm for about three months was “killing” him. As a result, he “literally couldn’t sing at all.”
Springsteen said, “I was, during the course of it, before people told me, ‘Oh no. It’s gonna go away, and you’re gonna be OK,’ you know, you’re thinking like, ‘Hey, am I gonna sing again?’ and you know, this is one of the things I love to do the best, the most, and right now I can’t do it.”
He also noted that it took doctors a while before they said he was going to be okay and be able to sing again. Understandably, this uncertainty made Springsteen very nervous about treatment and what the future would be like. Fortunately, his treatment was successful, and he’s very grateful to be back to performing again.
