Cape Coral Police Officer Helps Save Baby Manatee
Cape Coral Police love Sea cows. They should. Because they might be my favorite animal. I mean just look at them. The floating around. Eating grass. Sounds like a good time to me. But sometimes these guys find themselves stuck in some trouble. But don’t worry. For one little manatee stuck in a Cape Coral canal, help was on the way.
According to NBC2, a baby manatee just hanging out in a canal in Cape Coral got separated from its mom. Now, normally, that’s the kind of situation that could end very badly for a cute little baby manatee?
But don’t worry, because here comes Officer Goff from the Cape Coral Police Department! Officer Goff isn’t just focused on catching criminals, he’s also about rescuing little manatees.
So Officer Goff sprang into action to assist this lost calf. What is really cool is the officer stayed with the little guy until he was taken out of the water for transport.
Cape Coral Police Rescue:
Meanwhile, the entire neighborhood gathers to watch the events unfold, because who wouldn’t be on the edge of their seat with a cute baby manatee needing help? I’m sure lots of people peeked out of their windows and stepped onto their porches just to try and see the rescue take place. I would.
Then came the high point. Officer Goff scoops up the calf in a net and after securing the manatee, he returns to dry land to help get the little manatee somewhere else safe.
But the story doesn’t end there! This young manatee is in for a treat with a trip to SeaWorld for some needed rest and relaxation. SeaWorld is the place to be for this little fella.
The Cape Coral Police Department says the calf is doing well now. Glad to hear it’s safe and sound! Great job and big thanks to Officer Goff and his team.
5 Adorable And Hilarious Animal Videos To Boost Your Mood
It is hard not to smile when you see a cute animal. It seems like more businesses in Southwest Florida are becoming more pet friendly. I even saw an old fashioned carriage with two fluffy dogs instead of babies, at an indoor bar in Fort Myers over the weekend. That raised a few eyebrows. However, when dogs are taken to hospitals, nursing homes, schools and such, healthcare experts say it is beneficial to the patients. Many dogs, and cats too, have a way of calming nerves and anxiety. The internet is full of cute videos of animals doing funny things and this week I found some good ones. If you want a good laugh, check out these 5 adorable and hilarious animal videos to boost your mood for TikTok Tuesday.
Dogs and cats may be prominent on social media but they are certainly not the only animals doing funny things. In some cases, it’s the videographer who is doing the funny things with animals as stars. The audio is also key for many of them. You’ll see a couple of great examples when you scroll down. Click here for a video I made at a donkey sanctuary on the island of Bonaire a few years ago. The audio was trending at the time so I cold not resist using it.
If you don’t have a TikTok account, don’t worry. I’ve made it easy to view by taking these links from mine. Simply scroll down and hit play from this post. In addition, all of these videos are office and kid friendly. In fact, the kids will love these and likely want to watch again.
