9 Florida Restaurants Awarded New Michelin Stars
When it comes to dining in the Sunshine State, there are so many great options and even more now as 9 Florida restaurants have been awarded new Michelin stars.
If you asked me to pick my favorite restaurant, it would be almost impossible. I’m not even sure I can pick just one in Fort Myers, not to mention Naples, Cape Coral or on Sanibel. Then add in my favorite for different cuisines or in different cities in the U.S. or around the world. It’s hard to pick just one place when there are so many great places to eat. I’m all across the board too, because while I enjoy a finer dining experience sometimes, there are plenty of divey places that have excellent food too.
If you are looking for the best of the best, 9 Florida restaurants have been awarded new Michelin stars in Orlando, Tampa and Miami.
9 Florida Restaurants Awarded New Michelin Stars
Being awarded a Michelin star is the highest honor a restaurant can get. The Michelin guide arrived in Florida in 2022, but the first Michelin guide goes back to 1900. Stars come in at 3 levels. According to the Institute of Culinary Education, a one-star rating means that it’s a “very good restaurant”, two stars tells you you’ll find “excellent cooking that is worth a detour” and if a restaurant gets three stars it offers “exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey.” At the awards ceremony at Tampa’s EDITION Hotel, there were 26 stars awarded and 9 were awarded stars for the first time. Those restaurants include:
Orlando:
- Camille (Vietnamese)
- Natsu (Japanese)
- Papa Llama (Peruvian)
- Victoria & Albert’s (Contemporary)
Miami:
- Ogawa (Japanese)
- EntreNos (Contemporary)
- Shingo (Japanese)
Tampa:
