Florida Publix Sold A $1 Million Winning Lottery Ticket
It’s been a few weeks in a row now with great news of big wins and a Florida Publix sold a $1 million winning lottery ticket.
Publix is a place we all do our grocery shopping at, but it seems now that it’s the place to buy lottery tickets too. Over the last year there have been many big money wins making headlines with tickets being sold at Publix. Just last month, someone won a $1 million Powerball ticket in Palm Coast. And right before Thanksgiving too, which sure makes for an even merrier holiday season. Earlier this year we reported that more than half of all winning lottery tickets are sold at Publix, so not only is it a pleasure to shop there, but lucky too.

It happened again this week that Publix had another big winner. Especially this time of year, I get so happy for these people that win the big money. Just the idea of someone being able to treat their family to an extra special vacation, maybe pay off their home and cars, or throw that money into an investment account to watch it grow is so exciting. Although I have to admit that while I’m thrilled for them, I’d be even more so if it were me.
According to WFLA, Debra Maffet of Dade City won a $1 million prize from a lottery ticket she purchased at the Publix at 11830 U.S. Highway 301 in Dade City. The ticket she bought was one of the Florida Lottery’s biggest games, the $1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular Scratch-Off. Debra chose the one-time payment of $640,000. And the Publix that sold her the ticket gets a little bonus too, $2000. The ticket costs $50, so it’s not a cheap one, but obviously the payoff for her was great. And that particular ticket does still have the $1 million a year for life prize out there with a total of 76 prizes left.
