Stevie Nicks Joined by Eddie Vedder for ‘Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around’
Stevie Nicks headlined the first night of the Ohana Festival over the weekend. During her set, she was joined by special guest Eddie Vedder.
Nicks and Vedder performed the hit “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.” The song was the lead single off Nicks’ 1981 debut solo album Bella Donna and featured Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The track was written by Petty and Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell. The performance came just days before the fifth anniversary of Petty’s sudden death at age 66.
In other Nicks news: The two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Famer recently released a new single. The track is a cover of the classic Buffalo Springfield protest song “For What It’s Worth.”
In a statement on the cover, Nicks said, “I always wanted to interpret it through the eyes of a woman, and it seems like today, in the times that we live in, that it has a lot to say.”
Nicks’ cover of “For What It’s Worth” can be heard in the YouTube video above and is available for streaming/download here.
