Meet Annie, this dog needs a good home. She visited the Sunny 106.3 studios this morning with Brian Weirima from the Gulf Coast Humane Society. Every month he brings in an animal that is in need of adoption and they almost always melt the hearts of everyone in the building. Annie is fairly new addition to the Gulf Coast Humane Society. So they are still learning about her every day.

About Annie, she needs a good home

Annie is about 45 pounds and is a so-called "low rider." Meaning she is short, low to the ground. She is a mix and is a sturdy dog. Said to be kennel trained, it's not known how she is around other dogs and kids just yet. However, the experts are figuring that out. In addition, Annie is a senior dog. She is eight years old. Many people are looking for puppies, However, senior dogs make great pets. There are a whole host of reasons why. One of the big ones is they are more calm. She calmed me down the minute she stepped through the doors.

The Humane Society is on MLK Drive in Fort Myers, across from the big flea market. If you have other dogs or kids, they suggest making an appointment and introducing Annie to them. See if there is a good connection. You can also check their website to see all of the dogs and cats currently available to adopt.  If you are looking to add a pet to your family, please consider rescuing one from the shelter.
