The weather was gorgeous and there was sweet success for dogs and cats at Sunny’s annual pet adoption event. It was at the Gulf Coast Humane Society (GCHS ) in Fort Myers and people were lining up before the doors even opened. It is the second year the radio station has teamed up with the shelter to help clear the kennels and give listeners a new pet for the new year. Check out this fun IG video of some of the dogs.

Sunny has a great partnership with the GCHS. The first Thursday of every month, they visit the studio to introduce listeners to the new Sunny 106.3 Pet of the Month. They typically get adopted pretty fast after a radio debut. So I was shocked to see February’s dog still there. Camo is a little older but a beautiful dog. Find out more here.

A big, heartfelt thank you goes out to Florida Blue. They were gracious in helping us cover all adoption fees for the day. Your generosity made a big difference to a lot of people who might not have been able to adopt otherwise. It was so heartwarming to see so many smiles and so many great animals headed from the kennel to the couch. Although we did a great job of finding these animals homes, there are still many more waiting.

Please go online to look at the gallery. If you are looking to add to your home stop by and meet these cuddly creatures and remember our saying, “Adopt Don’t Shop.”
