ZinEX Wine Expo
My first time taking the show on the road with Sunny 106-3 is also my first experience with the ZinEX wine expo in San Francisco. The expo is a hallmark event for zinfandel lovers across the country, put on annualy by ZAP or Zinfandel Advocates & Producers. It’s a an organization dedicated to the promotion and education of all things zinfandel.

When many people hear the word “zinfandel” they think that sweet pink wine. No, no and a resounding NO. Zinfandel is a red grape, America’s heritage grape that makes a range of red wines from powerhouse fruity and jammy, to more elegant acidic and bright.
All of these styles were showcased at the 2022 event with zinfandel producers from all over California.

Peachy Canyon pulled out some small production wines typically reserved for wine club members
Mount Peak wines at ZAP
Mount Peak Wines were not only eye catching but great food wines. The story behind rattlesnake makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. I’ll share more later.
I loved the label on this Lapis Luna. They even had posters of it.

Also super excited to see wines from Clay Mauritson who was just in Southwest Florida for a charity event. If you can find his Rockpile 2019 Zin, get it. It drinks more like a cab.
