Justin Bieber’s Friends Concerned ‘He’s Spiraling Again’
Justin Bieber has made his friends and fans concerned that he’s “spiraling” once again after his recent appearance at Coachella. The “Peaches” singer, 30, performed with Tems during her set nearly two weeks ago on Sunday, April 14th.
While performing “Essence” with Tems, Bieber wore a simple oversized black sweatshirt, baggy khaki pants, and a green and black baseball cap. This was a rare performance by the Biebs since he canceled his Justice World Tour last year. And in February, he turned down performing with mentor and collaborator Usher for the Super Bowl Halftime show.
“He’s still fragile and seemed checked-out all weekend,” a witness told InTouch Weekly of the singer, who has only performed sporadically since being diagnosed with a virus called Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which left half of his face paralyzed. “It’s a good sign he felt comfortable enough to get on stage, and a lot of fans are hoping this means he’ll be making his music comeback soon.”

One fan page noted on X (formerly Twitter) after his Coachella performance that he was seen in the studio with Wiz Kid, whom he previously collaborated with on the remix of “Essence” with Tems.

The source noted to the publication that though Bieber has “finally” got his health back up, his friends “are worried that he’s spiraling again” because he has “severe ups and downs.”
In 2020, the “Sorry” singer opened up about how his substance abuse was so bad in the fifth installment of his 10-part YouTube docuseries, Justin Bieber: Seasons. The Canadian singer was addicted to cannabis and codeine-based drugs, MDMA, and mushrooms. Soon after realizing how bad his dependency on substances was getting, Bieber got clean and has apparently stayed sober since.

Ahead of the docuseries’ debut, Bieber posted an update on Instagram (which has since been deleted), writing: “While a lot of people kept saying Justin Bieber looks like s—, on meth etc. they failed to realize I’ve been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, not only that but had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my, skin, brain function, energy, and overall health.”
