The newest, biggest resort to open on Estero Island overcame numerous hurdles to to get to this day. Devastation from Hurricane Ian is just one of them.
Even before Ian, this resort was poised to change the landscape of the north end of the beach. During planning and construction there were numerous challenges to overcome. Many were from longtime beach residents as well as city leaders. Most concerns were centered around the size of the resort and the effect it could have on traffic which is notoriously bad in this area. But those are in the rearview mirror and the project is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

We can’t wait to see neon signs like this one, illuminated at Margaritaville Resort on Fort Myers Beach. This is at Margaritaville Restaurant at Universal CityWalk in Orlando. Soon we won’t have to drive inland for the experience.

The bridge from the resort stretches above Estero Blvd, and onto the beach offering a safe crossing for guests and visitors. Margaritaville is bringing some 200 jobs to the island which is a nice boost. Especially following Hurricane Ian. The official opening date has not been announced yet, however, Margaritaville Fort Myers Beach is now accepting reservations for February.
