Odelin Regis Of Cape Coral Hospitalized After Swallowing Pills and Eating Cocaine While Trying To Run From The Cops
Odelin Regis, a Cape Coral, Florida Man messed up this time. The truly crazy part, is that this is the second time this year (at least) he’s tried to out run the cops. You can’t outrun radios, sir.
Back in May, the Sarasota Police Department arrested Odelin for FLEE ELUDE LEO WITH LIGHTS SIREN ACTIVE, and RECKLESS DRIVING. Well, it didn’t take long for our Cape Coral man to find trouble again. This time, in the Florida Keys.
Last Sunday, the Monroe County Sheriffβs Office observed a Corvette traveling more than 100 mph near Mile Marker 35 at approximately 12 p.m. If you’re familiar, that’d be Big Pine Key. Regis fled from the Sheriffβs Office and the FHP while committing numerous traffic violations. He failed to stop despite multiple attempts by both agencies. That’s when the cops brought out the spike strips.
The vehicleβs tires were successfully spiked at the Channel Two Bridge. The Corvette stopped near Mile Marker 74, however, the driver, Regis, fled on foot. It didn’t take long for him to be apprehended. A female passenger in the vehicle was not arrested. It wasn’t even his car.Β The Corvette was a rental. Hope he bought the extra insurance.
Here’s what Odelin Regis had in the car:
$27,300 cash
3.3 grams of cocaine
Approximately 2.8 ounces of marijuana
+ more than $27,000 in cash
The also found a loaded .45-caliber handgun near the Channel Two Bridge. He may have thrown the gun while he was being chased on foot, but the police have not been able to prove that, yet. There was actually a lot more drugs in the car, you see, Odelin needed to be transported to a Miami hospital due to
ingesting pills and cocaine while he was fleeing. He was trying to eat the stash. Odelin Regis was charged with DUI, fleeing and eluding, as well as multiple traffic violations, including reckless driving. MCSO has not posted his mugshot,
here’s his pic from his arrest earlier this year.

Florida Has 3 Of The Most Rat Infested Cities In The Country
Let me start of by saying that no where in Florida is nearly as bad as Chicago. That city is on top of Orkinβs Top 50 Rat Infested Cities List for the ninth year in a row. I witnessed this first hand while staying at a hotel in downtown Chicago. We were several floors up and our view overlooked an alley. We noticed a dog poking around the dumpsters. A dog with a very long tail. Once it got closer to the light we realized it was the biggest rat you could image. Florida can’t begin to come close to the rats they have in Chicago.
Orkin ranked metro regions by the number of newΒ rodent treatments performed from Sept.1, 2022, to Aug. 31, 2023. This ranking includes both residential and commercial pest control treatments. Pretty efficient way of measuring the problems.
After Chicago comes another rat haven that I’m familiar with. Los Angeles. In the latest rankings, Los Angles has now overtaken New York for the second spot. Congratulations?
After New York at 3, comes Washington DC at 4, and San Francisco at 5.
There are rats in Florida, however the 3 Florida cities that made the list are much further down. Our rat problems aren’t nearly as bad as the cities on top the list. Additionally, one thing to note, of the 3 Florida cities that made the list, all moved up in the rankings over the previous year. So our rat problem seems to be growing.
If you don’t believe there’s rats in Southwest Florida, plant a mango tree in your yard. They’ll find you.
Here’s the most rat infested cities in Florida, and their national rankings.
