Lakeland Man’s Dollar Tree Crime Spree Earns Him Decades Behind Bars
A guy from Lakeland got slapped with nearly 30 years in the slammer for hitting up a Dollar Tree a dozen times, from 2018 to 2021. Now I’m no criminal Mastermind. But if I had to commit armed robbery, I would make it like a casino or a bank. Not a Dollar Tree store! Look, I would NEVER do anything like that. But if I had to be a villain, I’m going to be Lex Luthor. Not the Condiment king.
According to Fox35, our “lame” villain is Scott Carpenter Jr. This dude wasn’t just going to be satisfied with robbing just one Dollar Tree store. He was going to go on a Dollar Tree robbing spree! So he hit up at least 12 locations all across Tampa. Even with all of these high-end stores out there! Carpenter went for the ones with discount dish soaps and plastic forks. Wise choice my guy.
Dollar Tree Crime Spree:
Carpenter did dress the part at least. He wore black and quietly lurked around till the Dollar Tree staff would shut down shop for the night. Then, when they were making their way to their cars or off to the bank with the day’s earnings, he would make his move. Armed and dangerous, he’d show up out of nowhere, waving a gun and demanding cash from the poor employees.
Don’t worry though. All stupid criminals get caught eventually. The cops finally caught up with him and searched his place and his ride, and they hit the jackpot evidence wise. We’re talking about guns and clothes that matched the ones used in the robberies.
Now, as punishment for his crime spree, Carpenter’s been told he has to give up the guns and ammunition, as well as pay up over 22 grand to his victims. Let’s just say that’s going to be a lot of dish soap.
