The Christmas season is upon us and if you want to feel festive, celebrate the holidays at Coconut Point’s annual parade and tree lighting this Saturday.
I always say that as soon as Halloween hits, we move in double speed through the rest of the year. It’s still crazy to me that Thanksgiving has now come and gone and Christmas is now only 3 weeks away. But this is the merriest time of year and there’s so much in Southwest Florida to do to celebrate. Between cookie decorating, getting pictures with Santa, tree lightings and holiday parades, it’s fun for all ages. There’s something about Christmas that brings out the kid in everyone. And this Saturday, December 7, will be quite the celebration at Coconut Point Mall in Estero.

This Saturday, December 7, will be a day of festive fun at Coconut Point Mall. The day kicks off with a charity car show from 11am-2pm featuring a free display of classic cars and trucks presented by the Rotary Club of Estero. There will also be a vendor show from Ladies Local Social Network will food booths set up from Ted’s Montana Grill, Joe’s Fresh Catch, California Pizza Kitchen, Moe’s Mexican and Mama Anna Trattoria. Marina Mike’s and Genesis will also have displays and Sunglass World will sponsor a Santa Photo Booth.
From 3-6pm, there will be performances from children’s dance groups and school choirs as well as tropical performances from Bonita Springs Middle School and New Alliance Performing Arts.
And who doesn’t love a parade? According to a press release, starting at 5pm, enjoy a parade featuring local high school bands, mascots, community organizations and even the big man himself, Santa Claus! At 7:00 PM, Santa, Sheriff Carmine Marceno and Estero Village Mayor Jon McLain will lead the Christmas tree lighting. After, there will be photo ops with Santa and more entertainment to keep the celebration going all night long.
Because it will be a busy day at the mall, Coconut Point will offer a shuttle service between shops and the parking lot. The main stage will be set up by Apple in the center of Fashion Drive.
