Beauty YouTuber Jaclyn Hill Speaks Out After Hairy Lipstick Controversy
Jaclyn Hill is quite literally in the middle of a hairy situation.
The popular YouTube beauty vlogger is fighting back against claims that her new makeup line’s lipsticks are “hairy” and “moldy” after multiple people have complained on social media.
Hill, who just released her own makeup line after several successful collaborations with brands like Morphe and Becca Cosmetics, said she was waiting to comment on the issue so that she could gather all the facts.
In a video posted to her channel, she addressed user complaints. Of concerns that the lipsticks had black spots of mold, she said:
“What these black dots are are actually oxygen bubbles, and they are being lifted to the surface when my lipstick bullet is being cooled off.”
Other users complained that the lipsticks literally had hair on them, to which she attributed to the cotton gloves the manufacturers were wearing during processing.
But as one user pointed out, it appeared that even her personal samples had a gritty texture to them as Hill noted on video.
so even here on her personal lipsticks during the swatching even she had fuzzies on As If. at that point it would have been smart to check the lab for any problems #jaclynhill pic.twitter.com/3FhPvOuXPy

Hill apologized for the issues, calling it “very embarrassing.”
But she insisted the lipsticks were safe for use.
“All of the products in these vats are 100% FDA-approved ingredients and totally good and safe for you to use,” she said.
“We made a lot of product in a very short amount of time, and although we all thought it was gonna be perfect and fresh, that’s not the case,” she added.
Customers can get a full refund by contacting her support team, she said.
