1 p.m. Update

Tropical depression three strengthened into Tropical Storm Cristobal early Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The maximum winds are estimated to be 40 miles per hour with higher gusts, the NHC said in their latest update.

Tropical Storm Cristobal is currently about 150 miles west-southwest of Campeche, Mexico and about 135 miles northeast of Coatzacoalcos, Mexico.

There continues to be no threat to Southwest Florida from this system at this time.
